To your question: Depends. Some goofy cracks act like a loop server. The software will run, but your cpu clocks get eaten alive. Generators are supposed to crank a useable serialz. Some cracks you run inside the pirated software folder as an executable and it glues a fake registration to the entry key.

Most of the time there should be a file somewhere in the .zip folder text.nfo or README.txt or INSTALL.txt. If it is *.nfo open it with a word processor by telling the file viewer to show all file types.
